Dire que Gérard Jean est un passionné est un euphémisme ! J’en ai eue l’expérience en me rendant chez lui, dans les Côtes d’Armor à Penvénan entre Paimpol et Perros Guirec, pour admirer son jardin. Voilà 20 ans qu’il cultive plus de 20.000 plantes, 2450 variétés venues du monde entier. Une grille d’entrée majestueuse, un manoir en granit, l’enchantement commence puis se prolonge au hasard des espaces dédiés aux plantes : jardin exotique, jardin anglais, étang aux nymphéas, jardin austral, allée Himalayenne… Un travail titanesque où chaque plante est mise à sa place, la devise de Gérard est « à chaque terre sa plante heureuse ». Tout est imaginé, pensé, mélangé en prenant soin des couleurs, des formes, des ambiances… « tout doit se compléter et s’harmoniser » précise Gérard qui fut créateur artistique dans la publicité. « Ce jardin c’est mon bonheur » dit-il, partagez le avec lui !

To say that Gérard Jean is passionate is a euphemism! I had the experience by going to his home, in the Côtes d'Armor at Penvénan between Paimpol and Perros Guirec, to admire his garden. For 20 years he has been growing more than 20,000 plants, 2,450 varieties from around the world. A majestic entrance gate, a granite manor, the enchantment begins and then extends randomly spaces dedicated to plants: exotic garden, English garden, water lily pond, southern garden, Himalayan alley ... A titanic work where each plant is put in its place, the motto of Gerard is "to each land his happy plant". Everything is imagined, thought out, mixed, taking care of colors, shapes, atmospheres ... "everything has to complement and harmonize," says Gérard, who was an artistic creator in advertising. "This garden is my happiness," he says, share it with him!
