On the hills of Vaucluse with a magnificent views on Luberon and Alpilles, the Golf de Saumane Provence Country Club is close to the attractive village of Saumane whose Castle, was the property of the family of the Marquis de Sade, and which dominates all the region.
The Golf de Saumane is a magnificent 18 holes course which was drawn in 1989 by Jean Garaïalde who was inspired by the plan of the Canal of Carpentras as well as by hilly natural landscapes of rocky steep slopes and groves. The lenght of this course is 6099 meters from the white tees with 38 bunkers placed strategically. The course begins quietly to finish on difficult holes as n° 14 with its green surrounded with water, n°16 protected by numerous bunkers and n°18 with its “drive” between two lakes …
The vegetation reflects Provence with its pines, its olive trees and its massifs of laurels, roses, lavenders and rosemaries. The site is surrounded by Luberon, the Mounts of Vaucluse, and, far off, the Alpilles with magnificent views on lakes and fountains.
