Lyon, Cour des Loges*****

Situated in the old city of Lyon,  the hotel Cours des Loges is one of its most beautiful jewels, an air of castle in town ! His decoration take you back into the Italian Renaissance. For the rooms, you will have the choice between various styles : the small Mezzanine with its bathtub on stage, bed on a mezzanine or French-style ceiling... Every classic room is unique but all show a romantic and intimist frame which gives a good place to the velvet, the forged iron, the woodwork and mix old furniture to contemporary decoration as in the bathroom with a surprising contrast of design and style of period. In the superior rooms, everything is in harmony: coffered ceilings, hundred-year-old woodwork, heavy curtains, impressive mirrors, furnitures sometimes signed by Le Corbusier or Mackintosh, sometimes in the Renaissance style. Peace and the intimacy are for the honor for these rooms giving into an inside court. The artist Hervé Thibaut transformed suites and apartments into real paintings to be lived. Some are theatrical by being inspired by an Italian opera changing room with the embroidered silk and painted panels representing Venetian landscapes. Others take airs of painter's or photograph's studio of the beginning of the XXth century. Fine mix between historic charm and contemporary  comfort.
1-star restaurant in the Guide Michelin, Les Loges is directed by the young Chef Anthony Bonnet. Around you will appreciate the Café-Epicerie, a new concept bistrot/store wher you will discover, taste and buy products. And the Petite Loge, a small kitchen to discover some Chef receipts...
