Golf d'Arcachon
In Aquitaine, situated at the edge of the Bay of Arcachon and near the highest dune of Europe : the dune of Pilat, the International Golf of Arcachon enjoys an exceptional situation.
The history of the Golf of Arcachon raises in 1895 when the Exshaw family, Irish origin, builds the first holes. In 1902 he is bought back by the city which transforms him into 9 holes course. The golf disappears in 1938 to be reborn on the municipality of La Teste in 1960. This course is lined with typical species of the region, maritime pines, mimosas, oaks and strawberry trees... He is hilly on the first 9 holes, and more flat on 9 last ones and then contain several water hasards. Its sandy soil makes him very pleasant to play.
