Built by the commander of the Swiss Guards regiment of the King in 1750, the Domaine de Vaugouard in Fontenay sur Loing became the hunting grounds of the Duke of Orleans in the nineteenth before becoming a golf course. Wooded, hilly and dotted with pretty ponds of water, the course offers an interesting and technical game with magnificent views. No. 2 for example is a long dog-leg par-5 where you have to be precise in 2nd and 3rd shot to avoid the bunkers on each side; No. 6 is a long narrow Par4 between the large trees ... The No. 12 is a Par3 with a beautiful island green; it is followed by No. 13, the hardest hole of the course, a dog-leg Par4 where you will have to drive over the water and avoid the river that runs left side all along; Finally, the No. 18 will not leave you quiet because you have to jump twice over the water ...
In the castle, you can have lunch at the restaurant "Les Saules" with his splendid terrace overlooking the course.
